Represented Italy at U-18, U-20 and senior levels.
Has stated that the greatest player he ever played against was Jaromir Jagr and that his most satisfying goal was his 3-2 goal against Germany at the 2006 Olympics. Also nicknamed „Skizzo“.
Retired at 42 with his home club Merano. Became their assistant coach and got promoted as head coach after only three months.

Sa soeur aînée joua également au hockey. Petit défenseur, constant dans ses compétences et un esprit combatif.
Il fut sélectionné avec l'Italie en moins de 18 ans, moins de 20 ans et en sénior.
Il a déclaré que le plus grand joueur qu'il a eu à affronter fut Jaromir Jagr et que son but le plus marquant fut celui du 3-2 contre l'Allemagne aux Jeux Olympiques de 2006. Également surnommé "Skizzo".
Il prend sa retraite à 42 ans avec son club de Merano pour devenir entraîneur-adjoint, poste qu'il ne garde que trois mois car il est promu entraîneur-chef.
