Small-sized (180 cm, 81 kg) but fast center. Skilled and slick with the puck.
His father Jérôme, an engineer in Grenoble, also played ice hockey. Louis attended the same high school as him in Villard-de-Lans.
Went to the USA at 18. Found only a spot in NA3HL but became MVP in this Tier III junior league in his first year and came into the NAHL.
At 22 he alread had a trophy bearing his name. As he broke all records for the NAHL Northeast Generals, this junior team gives the "Louis Boudon Award" for the season's outstanding performer.
Became one of the best NCAA players. Captained Lake Superior State university team in his junior season.

Centre rapide, habile et rusé avec le palet. Gabarit plutôt petit de 180 cm pour 81 kg.
Son père Jérôme, ingénieur en informatique industrielle et automatisme à Grenoble, a aussi joué au hockey sur glace.
Louis est passé par la section sports études au lycée Jean Prévost de Villard-de-Lans, où avait déjà étudié son père.
Bac en poche, il part aux États-Unis. Il ne trouve une place qu'en NA3HL (ligue junior de Tier III) mais en est élu MVP et gravit rapidement les échelons vers la NAHL.
À 22 ans il avait déjà un trophée à son nom : comme il avait établi tous les records des Northeast Generals en NAHL, cette équipe junior américaine décerne depuis lors le "trophée Louis Boudon" du joueur le plus performant de chaque saison.
Devenu un des meilleurs joueurs universitaires, capitaine de l'université de Lake Superior State à sa troisième saison.
