Grew up in Riscone (Reischach) near Brunico. Debuted at 6 as a defenceman. He was about to quit hockey at 9 when HCP coach Jacek Olender tried him between the pipes because a goalie was missing. He would never leave that position. He was one head taller than his teammates during all his youth and eventually reached 198 cm.
Despite his size his moves are very sharp and quick. Mature and well-thought from a young age. He reads the game well and positions himself carefully. He covers ideally the top and the bottom of his net with his butterfly, deep-in-the-crease style.
He might be weaker on mid-height shots. Prone to some costly mistakes with the puck, which deprived Kärpät from playoffs during his 10-game stint in Finland in March 2025.
Youngest (backup) goaltender in World Championship history in 2021, at 16 years and 4 months.
Drafted in the secound round by the Anaheim Ducks in 2023, the highest-ever position for an Italian hockey player.

Il a grandi à Riscone (Reischach) à côté de Brunico, où il débute à 6 ans comme défenseur. Il est prêt à arrêter à 9 ans quand l'entraîneur polonais du HCP, Jacek Olender, lui donne sa chance dans les cages parce qu'il manque un gardien. Il ne quittera plus ce poste. Faisant une tête de plus que ses camarades dès l'enfance, il grandira jusqu'à 1 mètre 98.
Ses mouvements sont très rapides et précis en dépit de son gabarit. Très mature et réfléchi pour son âge. Il anticipe bien le jeu par un placement minutieux. Il couvre parfaitement la cage en haut et en bas en papillon, bien campé sur ses appuis et sur sa ligne.
Sa faiblesse serait à chercher sur les tirs à mi-hauteur. Il a aussi pris quelques mauvais buts à cause de son jeu à la crosse, dont celui qui a coûté la qualification aux Kärpät lors de son bref passage de 10 rencontres en Liiga en mars 2025.
Gardien (remplaçant) le plus jeune de l'histoire des Championnats du monde en 2021, à 16 ans et 4 mois.
Italien drafté le plus haut en NHL, au deuxième tour par Anaheim en 2023.
