One of six children who came from a prominent family of hockey players.
Father Bill and brothers Peter and Gord all played in the NHL.
Diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 1987 after the WC tournament in Vienna, it's a debilitating inflammatory bowel disorder. Despite his chronic illness, Dineen always played every shift like it was his last.
Extremely hard worker. He was taught to always outwork his opponents. Was the ultimate combination of ability and determination.
One of very few NHL players who scored more than 350 goals and 2000+ minutes in the NHL.

L'un des six enfants d'une importante famille de hockeyeurs. Son père Bill et ses frères Peter et Gord ont tous joué en NHL.
Diagnostiqué de la maladie de Crohn en 1987 après le tournoi mondial à Vienne. C'est une maladie inflammatoire chronique intestinale. Malgré sa maladie, Dineen jouaut chaque présence comme si c'était la dernière.
Travaillait extrêmement dur. On lui a enseigné de toujours travailler plus que ses adversaires. Il était la combinaison ultime de capacité et de détermination.
L'un des très rares joueurs de NHL à avoir totalisé plus de 350 buts et plus de 2000 minutes de pénalités en NHL.
