His father was a ice hockey forward in his university (NAIT) and he hired a sport psychologist - who had worked with NHL goaltender Braden Holtby - to take care of 10-year-old Carter.
Strong puck handling goaltender. Good at covering the bottom of the net.
Fundamentally sound with textbook positioning. Tendency to go down on his knees early.
Twice CHL goaltender of the year (2016, 2018). World junior champion 2018.
He had two excellent first NHL seasons and was about to succeed his idol Carey Price as Canada's top goaltender even if he battled a few bad spells and injuries in 2020/21.
Soon a scandal surfaced. In April 2022 it was made public that five members of Canada 2018 junior team were accused of sexual assault on one woman in a hotel room after a Hockey Canada gala event which took place in June 2018. Their names were unknown until January 2024 when the Philadelphia Flyers announced Carter Hart was granted an "indefinite leave for personal reasons". One week later he was ordered to surrender to police and charged. Hart was eventually acquitted during Summer 2025.

Meilleur gardien du circuit junior majeur canadien en 2016 et 2018. Champion du monde junior 2018.
Il a connu deux excellentes premières saisons en NHL à Philadelphie et tout indiquait qu'il succèderait à son idole Carey Price comme gardien numéro 1 du Canada même s'il a connu ses premières phases de doute et blessures en 2020/21.
Mais bientôt un scandale éclata. En avril 2022 la justice révéla que cinq membres de l'équipe nationale junior canadienne de 2018 étaient accusés d'agression sexuelle sur une femme dans une chambre d'hôtel après un dîner de gala de Hockey Canada de juin 2018. Leurs noms restèrent inconnus jusqu'en janvier 2024, lorsque les Flyers - comme d'autres équipes au même moment - annoncèrent que Carter Hart prenait un "congé pour raisons personnelles". Une semaine plus tard il fut inculpé par la police de London. Acquitté à l'été 2025.
