Younger brother of Jaroslav Holík and uncle of Bobby Holík. Good two-way player and an extremely hard worker.
But was also an artistic scorer and an elegant skater.
He was the more eye-catching and more talented of the two Holíks.
Off the ice he was said to be care-free lover of nature and the arts, a day dreamer and a philosopher.
Played 553 league games, scoring 486 points (282+204).
Represented Czechoslovakia 319 times (132 goals).
Retired in 1985 after having finished his playing career in Germany and Austria. Inducted into the Czech Hockey Hall of Fame.

Retraité en 1985 après avoir fini sa carrière de joueur en Allemagne et en Autriche.
