Hot tempered winger who had a reputation in early years as an “enfant terrible”.
His undisciplined play earned him many penalties. In later years his image on the ice changed.
Played 829 career elite league games, scoring 777 points (305+472).
Represented West Germany/Germany 130 times and scored 49 points (17+32).
Nicknamed “Eisenschorsch” or simply “Schorsch”.
Retired in 1997. Became an ice hockey coach in the lower German divisions.
Also coached German national inline hockey team.
