A product of Mannheim. Defensive blueliner not afraid to throw himself into the mix. Solid skater. At times making the wrong decisions out on the ice. Played at all levels on the German national team, U-18, U-20 and senior level.
Got Epstein-Barr virus during 2017/18 season. Got less ice time with Ingolstadt but bounced back with Straubing in 2019/20.
Retired in 2024 and came back to his hometown Berchtesgaden while working on the other - Austrian - side of the border as a youth hockey coach in Salzburg. The academy there is led by Helmut de Raaf who was Kohl's coach during his junior years in Mannheim.

Défenseur défensif qui se fait le devoir d'aller au contact en toute occasion. Bon patineur qui manque parfois de clairvoyance dans ses choix. International allemand U18, U20 et senior.
Victime d'une mononucléose pendant la saison 2017/18, il a vu son temps de glace baisser à Ingolstadt mais a rebondi à Straubing en 2019/20.
Retraité en 2024, il rentre vivre dans sa ville natale Berchtesgaden pour devenir entraîneur de jeunes à Salzbourg, de l'autre côté de la frontière (autrichienne), dans l'académie dirigée par Helmut de Raaf qui fut son entraîneur dans ses années juniors à Mannheim.
