Had a long playing career in Villach where he spent 22 seasons. Five-time Austrian champion (1992, 1993, 1999, 2002, 2006). During his last years he switched from being a forward to a defenseman.
His number 27 has been retired by Villacher SV. His 334 goals and 701 points are club records.
Finished his career in the Austrian fourth division 2010/11. Turned into coaching and started out as an assistant coach for the junior team of Villach. His son Christof also became a pro player for Villach.

Vingt-deux saisons au Villacher SV au cours desquelles il a transité vers un poste de défenseur. Quintuple champion d'Autriche (1992, 1993, 1999, 2002, 2006).
Ses 334 buts et 701 points sont des records du VSV, qui a retiré son maillot 27.
Finit sa carrière en 2011 après une saison en quatrième division autrichienne, à Spittal-an-der-Drau. Il a ensuite intégré le staff du VSV pour s'occuper des jeunes. Son fils Christof est lui aussi devenu joueur de l'équipe première du VSV.
