Offensive defenceman with good size (187 cm, 90 kg) and a strong personality.
His four-year-older brother Dawid spent all his career in Krynica, except one season in Sosnowiec.
Maciej captained KTH Krynica when the team came back into Polish elite league in 2013/14. His play was noticed by Russian national team coach Igor Zakharkin and he was hired by Tychy for a few weeks before pursuing his pro career in Cracovia. Eventually became Cracovia captain from 2017 to 2020 before moving to Katowice for four years.
Polish champion 2016, 2017, 2022 and 2023.
He had two sons with his wife Bernadettą.

Défenseur offensif, doté d'un bon gabarit (187 cm, 90 kg) et d'une forte personnalité.
Son frère aîné Dawid a passé toute sa carrière à Krynica, sauf une saison à Sosnowiec.
Maciej était le capitaine du KTH Krynica lorsque ce club de montagne aux finances fragiles a fait son retour dans l'élite polonaise en 2013/14. Son jeu a été remarqué par l'entraîneur russe de l'équipe nationale Igor Zakharkin et il a été envoyé à Tychy pendant quelques semaines avec l'accord de son club avant de se lancer dans une carrière de hockeyeur professionnel à Cracovie. Il est devenu capitaine du Cracovia de 2017 à 2020 avant de passer quatre saisons à Katowice.
Champion de Pologne 2016, 2017, 2022 et 2023.
Il a deux enfants avec son épouse Bernadettą.
