Born in Kraków, but moved around quite a bit as a child due to his fathers work (painter), before settling down in Krynica due to his mothers poor health (she worked in a cigar factory).
It was there that he learned to play ice hockey when he was in 5th grade.
He remembered sitting on his father’s lap looking at the hockey World Championships in Krynica 1931, which got him hooked on hockey.
Was known as a multisport athlete who aside from ice hockey also was a good football and volleyball player.
Also a good skiier, both downhill and as a ski jumper.
Worked at a local bakery after WW II and took up ice hockey again.
Often formed a line with Stefan Csorich and Marian Jezak.
The trio complemented each other well. Jezak with his speed, Csorich with his smartness and Lewacki with his scoring abilities.
Represented Poland 47 times (26 goals).
Retired in 1960 after a relatively injury free career.
Coached in hockey for a while. Became a taxi driver.
Last surviving Polish ice hockey Olympian from 1948.
