Began playing hockey at the age of 10.
His strengths was good passing and strong defensive game.
His weakness was lack of toughness and not the best shot around, he also had trouble with quick turns.
Played 546 Czechoslovak/Czech/Slovak Extraliga career games, scoring 199 points (59+140).
He represented Czechoslovakia 23 times (1 goal) and Slovakia 89 times (11 goals).
Retired in 2002. Went on to work as an assistant coach in Austria, in Salzburg and Linz.
He also scouted for Linz and coached their second team.

Il a commencé le hockey à l'âge de 10 ans.
Ses principales forces étaient les passes et son solide jeu défensif.
Ses défauts étaient une manque de dureté et un lancer un peu limité, il avait aussi un peu de mal dans les transitions rapides.
199 points (59+140) en 546 parties d'Extraliga tchécoslovaque, tchèque ou slovaque.
23 sélections avec la Tchécoslovaquie (1 but) et 89 sélections avec la Slovaquie (11 buts).
Retraité en 2002. Devenu assistant coach en Autriche, à Salzbourg et Linz.
Il fut également recruteur pour Linz et entraîneur de la réserve.
