Younger brother of Takayuki Miura.
First Japanese born and trained player to be drafted by an NHL-team when Montreal Canadiens selected him in 1992.
Physically big defenseman, standing at 190cm (6-3) and 93kg (205 Ibs).
Played two years of junior hockey in Saskatchewan and improved his physical play a great deal. Also played briefly in the ECHL.
Was seen more as a shutdown defenseman with limited offensive skills.
Didn’t score more than 58 points (14+44) in 440 Japanese league games.
Won the Japanese league seven times. Retired 2009.
Studied at Kushiro Midorigaoka High School. He was a classmate with 2002 Olympic speedskater Toyoki Takeda.

Premier joueur né et formé au Japon à avoir été drafté par une équipe NHL quand les Canadiens de Montréal l'ont choisi en 1992.
Défenseur physiquement massif, mesurant 1m90 et pesant 93kg.
Il a passé deux années junior dans le Saskatchewan et a fortement amélioré son jeu physique. Il a aussi joué brièvement en ECHL.
Plutôt vu comme un défenseur défensif avec peu d'aptitudes offensives.
Il n'a inscrit que 58 points (14+44) en 440 matchs dans le championnat japonais.
Sept fois champion du Japon. Retraité en 2009.
Il a étudié au lycée Kushiro Midorigaoka. Il fut camarade de classe du patineur de vitesse olympique en 2002 Toyoki Takeda.
