Good-sized player with the ability to make plays at high speed which often could catch opposing defensemen flat-footed. A bit inconsistent physically and in the two-way department.
Came to North America as a junior. Drafted in the NHL by Detroit Red Wings in 2009. Signed a contract with them in 2011 and won became the Calder Cup Champion with their AHL farm team Grand Rapids Griffins in 2013. Nestrasil made his NHL debut on October 9, 2014 against Boston Bruins and scored his first NHL goal against Colorado Avalanche (Reto Berra) on November 22, 2014.

Joueur de beau gabarit (190 cm, 95 kg) avec la capacité de créer du jeu à haute vitesse au point de prendre au dépourvu les défenseurs adverses. Un peu inconstant physiquement et sur le plan défensif.
Parti dans la Ligue Junior Majeur du Québec à 17 ans, il a été drafté en NHL par les Red Wings de Détroit en 2009. Il a signé un contrat avec eux en 2011 et a remporté la Coupe Calder de champion AHL avec leur équipe-ferme des Griffins de Grand Rapids en 2013.
