Papp came to USA with his family at a relatively young age, and already played hockey in Los Angeles as a 12-year old.
Skilled player with soft hands who always thrived on high-pace hockey. A bit undersized and uneven in his performances.
His skating was once described as: "skates with three-point flexion through his stride, starting from the ankle, through his knees, and into his hips. Papp generates a ton of speed transitioning the puck up-ice with the deployment of crossovers through the neutral zone."
Papp was projected to be drafted somewhere around the 5th or 6th NHL round, but in the end was undrafted.
The Miklós Cup for the most technical Hungarian player was awarded to Papp in 2024.

Papp est arrivé aux États-Unis avec sa famille relativement jeune, et jouait déjà au hockey à Los Angeles à 12 ans.
Joueur talentueux aux mains souples, il a toujours excellé à haute intensité.Un peu petit et aux performances inégales.
Son coup de patin a été décrit comme suit : « Il patine avec une flexion à trois points tout au long de sa foulée, de la cheville aux hanches, en passant par les genoux. Papp génère une vitesse incroyable lors de la remontée du palet et des croisements en zone neutre. »
Papp devait être repêché au 5e ou 6e tour de la NHL, mais ne l'a pas été.
En 2024 il reçoit la coupe Miklós remise au joueur hongrois le plus technique.
