Technical and smart player with had both skills and a good attitude.
Trained a lot and had a body with very apparent muscles.
Scored a legendary 360° spin goal vs Belarus in 2000 World championships.
Played his last 12 seasons in Sweden, getting three promotions (and three relegations) to Elitserien with Björklöven.
Scored 95 points (47+48) in 104 games for Latvia. Retired in 2003. Became a hockey coach.

Joueur technique et intelligent qui mariait le talent avec une attitude exemplaire.
Considéré comme un maître des "pauses", par lesquelles il préparait une action qui surprenait l'adversaire.
Il passait beaucoup de temps en préparation physique et avait un corps sculptural avec des muscles très bien dessinés.
Il a marqué un but légendaire sur une pirouette à 360° contre le Bélarus aux Mondiaux 2000, sa spécialité qu'il a inscrit une demi-douzaine de fois en carrière.
Il a joué 12 saisons en Suède, 1 à Frölunda et surtout à 11 à Björklöven, club avec lequel il a fait trois fois l'ascenseur.
95 points (47+48) en 104 rencontres avec la Lettonie. Retraité en 2003, devenu entraîneur de hockey.
