Older brother of Alberto Da Rin. Began playing ice hockey at the age of ten in 1945, shortly after World War II had ended. His inspiration was his older brother Arturo who also played ice hockey and who died at the Russian front in WW II.
Formed a line at the 1956 Winter Olympics together with Francesco Macchietto and Giulio Oberhammer. They were dubbed „Dolomiten Sturm.“
Won an incredible 14 Italian league titles just like his brother. Led the league in scoring in 1961/62 (15), was fourth in 1963/64 (12), runner-up both in 1964/65 (16) and 1965/66 (13). Finished fifth in 1966/67 (8).
Undisputed leader on the Italian national team for 14 years. Represented Italy 144 times.
Retired in 1975 but made a brief comeback three years later when Diavoli Milano ran into injury problems.
Became an ice hockey coach after his playing career. Went on to manage the family owned Hotel Italia in Cortina D’Ampezzo, together with his brothers until his retirement.

Jeune frère d'Alberto Da Rin. A commencé le hockey sur glace à 10 ans en 1945, juste après la fin de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale. Son inspiration était son frère aîné Arturo qui avait aussi joué au hockey avant de mourir sur le front russe pendant la guerre.
A formé une ligne aux Jeux Olympiques 1956 avec Francesco Macchietto et Giulio Oberhammer. On les surnommait la "Dolomiten Sturm".
A remporté l'incroyable total de 14 titres de champion d'Italie, tout comme son frère. Meilleur marqueur du championnat en 1961/62 (15), quatrième en 1963/64 (12), deuxième en 1964/65 (16) et en 1965/66 (13), cinquième en 1966/67 (8).
Indiscutable leader de l'équipe nationale pendant 14 ans. 144 sélections pour l'Italie.
Joueur rugueux qui a fini sa carrière en défense.
A arrêté en 1975 mais a fait un bref retour trois ans plus tard quand les Diavoli Milano ont connu des problèmes de blessures.
Devenu entraîneur après avoir raccroché les patins. S'est occupé de l'hôtel familial (Hotel Italia de Cortina D'Ampezzo) avec ses frères jusqu'à sa retraite.
