Born in Canada but a US citizen by virtue of having an American mother.
Good two-way player with an aggressive style of play. Always willing to do the dirty work and stand up for his teammates, which made him a fan favorite.
Had his name engraved wrong (“Deadmarch”) on the Stanley Cup, won in 1996 with the Colorado Avalanche. He was screening the goalie during the cup-winning overtime goal.
Had several nicknames, like “Sheep Head”, “Deader” or “Deadly”.
Announced his retirement on September 22, 2005 due to concussion problems that had kept him out of hockey for more than two seasons.
Became a Video and Development Coach in the NHL, as well as an assistant coach. Had to leave his position due to further concussion issues.

Né au Canada mais citoyen américain en vertu de sa mère américaine.
Attaquant défensif avec un style de jeu agressif. Toujours prêt à faire le sale boulot et à défendre ses coéquipiers, ce qui en a fait un favori des supporters.
Il masquait le gardien sur le but du titre 1996 de l'Avalanche du Colorado, mais a vu son nom mal orthographié ("Deadmarch") sur la Coupe Stanley.
Il a eu plusieurs surnoms, comme "Tête de mouton", "Deader" ou "Deadly" [mortel].
A annoncé sa retraite le 22 septembre 2005 en raison d'une commotion cérébrale qui l'avait éloigné du hockey depuis plus de deux ans.
Il est alors devenu entraîneur vidéo et assistant-coach en NHL, mais a dû abandonner ces postes en raison de syndromes post-commotion persistants.
373 points (184+189) en 567 parties de saison régulière de NHL.
