Father of NHL’er Aleksandr Galchenyuk Jr. He supervised very closely his son's training.
Technically skilled player who battled some knee injuries along the way.
World Junior champion 1986 With the Soviet Union. Three-time Soviet champion and two-time Italian champion.
Represented Soviet Union at the 1991 Canada Cup and later Belarus at the Olympics and World Championships.
Retired in 2007.

Joueur techniquement talentueux qui s’est battu contre des blessures au genou.
Champion du monde junior 1986 avec l'Union Soviétique. Trois fois champion d'URSS et deux fois champion d'Italie.
A représenté l’URSS à la coupe Canada de 1991 et plus tard la Biélorussie aux JO et aux Championnats du monde.
Retraité en 2007.
