A Canadian of German/Czech descent. His father was born in Germany (Geldern).
His family was very sports oriented and Macek began playing hockey already at age three.
Center with good overall skills. Hard competitor. Fine on-ice vision.
Speedy skater and a nifty playmaker. Average defensively. Dangerous on the powerplay.
After a solid junior career in 2013, he moved to Germany and automatically gained German citizenship.
After 2018 Olympic silver medal he tried to get to the NHL with Vegas but was left in the AHL.
Played in the KHL with Avtomobilist Ekaterinburg from 2019 to 2026 before signing with Mannheim.
0,94 point per game in the AHL / 0,72 point per game in the DEL and in the KHL

Né au Canada d'ascendance germano-tchèque. Son père est né en Allemagne (à Geldern).
Sa famille était passionné de sports et Macek commença le hockey à trois ans.
Centre avec de bonnes capacités générales. Grand compétiteur avec une bonne vision du jeu.
Attaquant rapide et habile meneur de jeu. Un peu juste dans son jeu défensif. Dangereux en avantage numérique.
À l'issue d'une solide carrière junior, il partit en Allemagne en 2013 à la faveur de sa double nationalité.
Après une médaille d'argent aux JO 2018 il tente sa chance en NHL avec Vegas mais est laissé en AHL.
Il joue en KHL pour l'Avtomobilist Ekaterinbourg de 2019 à 2026 avant de signer à Mannheim.
