Player with excellent sporting pedigree in the family. His father Richard, a native of Trinidad and Tobago was a wide receiver in the CFL. His sister Kia played as a point guard in the WNBA. His cousin Sarah played for the Canadian Women’s National ice hockey team. His aunt Raquel married Donovan McNabb, a longtime NFL-quarterback who showed him the wa to professionnal sport by inviting him at a four-week camp with NHL players when he was only 14.
Big framed defenseman with a bit of a mean streak. Rock-solid defensive game. Good skater for his size (193 cm, 100 kg).
Naturally athletic and strong in a shutdown role. Not afraid to drop his gloves. Good reach and good shot.
At times, caught out of position, especially when looking for a big hit.

Issu d'une famille à l'excellent pedigree sportif. son père Richard, natif de Trinité-et-Tobago, fut wide receiver en CFL. Sa sœur basketteuse Kia a joué meneuse en WNBA. Sa cousine Sarah a joué pour l'équipe du Canada de hockey sur glace. Sa tante Raquel a épousé Donovan McNabb, qui fut longtemps quarterback en NFL. À 14 ans il suit un camp d'entraînement de quatre semaines avec cet oncle, à côté de joueurs de NFL, en salle de sport et sur le terrain mais avec des exercices adaptés à son âge. Ce camp lui montre la voie du sport professionnel.
Défenseur de gros gabarit avec un petit fond méchant. Jeu défensif solide comme un roc. Mobile pour son gabarit (193 cm, 100 kg).
Naturellement athlétique et fort pour neutraliser les attaquants adverses. Il n'a pas peur de faire tomber les gants.
Son allonge, sa force et son bon tir sont ses atouts. Parfois pris hors de position, surtout quand il cherche une grosse mise en échec.
