Younger brother of Hans Cattini. Considered to have a "Canadian style of play". Great hockey sense and had the ability to anticipate where the puck was going.
Elegant and almost catlike movements. Formed one of Europe's most formidable lines in HC Davos during the 1930s and 40s together with Bibi Torriani and his brother Hans Cattini. Scored 87 goals in 107 games for Switzerland. Also played eleven games for the Swiss B team.
He was the most extrovert of the three, always laughing and always in good spirits. Played until 1956 and then briefly coached HC Davos. In total he played 25 seasons in Davos, winning 16 league titles. Worked as an electrician in Davos together with his linemates.
They were all employed by another teammate, Albert "Tiger" Geromini. Later operated a hotel in Davos.
He had been ill for a longer period of time. After a long walk with his family he said that he didn’t feel well, and rested on the sofa in the living room, never to wake up again, passing away only 52 years old.
Inducted into the IIHF Hockey Hall of Fame.

Jeune frère de Hans Cattini, avec qui il partageait la réputation d'avoir un style de jeu "canadien". Un flair unique. Il donnait l'impression de deviner les trajectoires suivies par le palet.
Élegant, félin, il complétait avec Hans et Bibi Torriani une des plus belles lignes vues en Europe pendant l'entre-deux-guerres. Plus buteur que son frère, il a posté 87 buts en 107 sélections. A également disputé 11 rencontres avec l'équipe de Suisse "B".
Jeune homme exubérant, toujours de bonne humeur et prompt à plaisanter. A joué jusque ses 40 ans avant d'entraîner brièvement le HC Davos, club dont il aura porté le maillot pendant 25 ans pour enlever 16 championnats de Suisse.
Électricien à Davos même, employé par un équipier, Albert "le Tigre" Geromini. Travailla ensuite dans un hôtel de la station.
Sa santé connut un déclin rapide et il décéda très tôt, à 52 ans. De retour d'une promenade en famille, affirmant se sentir mal, il s'assit dans son sofa, s'endormit et ne se réveilla jamais.
Introduit au Hall of Fame du hockey international.
