Began skating at the age of seven. Grew up idolizing former Czechoslovakian national team player Rostislav Vlach.
Čajanek naturally rooted for his hometown club of Gottwaldov (Zlin). Three-time World champion. Useful player who did a lot of the unheralded work.
Good offensive abilities and really skilled with the puck. Excellent skater with good acceleration.
Smart player that could be used both as a center and winger. Only average defensively and without the puck.
Announced his retirement on March 23, 2015.

Son coeur penchait aussi, naturellement, pour le HC Gottwaldov (redevenu HC Zlin après la fin de l'ère communiste), club de sa ville natale pour lequel il jouera de nombreuses années.
Trois fois champion du monde, ce joueur était d'une grande utilité par son appétence pour les tâches obscures.
Attaquant doué, à l'aise avec le palet, ses accélérations faisaient ravage.
Joueur intelligent et adaptable, il pouvait prendre place à l'aile ou au centre. Son seul défaut résidait dans son jeu défensif assez moyen et, plus globalement, dans son travail sans palet.
Prit sa retraite en mars 2015.
