Palát began playing ice hockey at 4 in Frýdek-Místek. His childhood idol was Martin St. Louis.
He also played in Vítkovice, from where he left to Drummondville in QMJHL.
Outstanding playmaking ability from the wing position. Creative, shifty and very elusive one on one.
Natural point producer when placed in the right situations.
A bit undersized for the NHL. More of a playmaker than shooter.
Four time Stanley Cup finalist and a two-time Stanley Cup champion.
In 2022 he won the Golden Hockey Stick, an award given to the top Czech hockey player.
In 2024 he helped Czechia win the World Championships at home.

Palát a commencé l hockey sur glace à quatre ans à Frýdek-Místek. Son idole d'enfance était Martin St. Louis.
Il a également joué à Vítkovice, d'où il a rejoint les Voltigeurs de Drummondville en Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec (LHJMQ).
Un peu petit pour la NHL (1m80). Ailier plus meneur de jeu que buteur.
Distributeur qui sait orienter le jeu avec lucidité et intelligence. Agile et insaisissable en un contre un.
Naturellement prolifique lorsqu'il est placé dans les bonnes situations.
Quatre fois finaliste et deux fois vainqueur de la Coupe Stanley.
En 2022, il a remporté la Crosse d'or, prix décerné au meilleur joueur tchèque.
En 2024, il fut l'un des artisans ayant permis à la Tchéquie de remporter les Mondiaux à domicile.
