One of Italy's top players in the 1950s and 60s. Part of the feared "ABC line" together with Giampiero Branduardi and Ernesto Crotti.
Finished league scoring in fourth place 1960/61.
The "Trofeo Memorial Giancarlo Agazzi", an annual tennis tournament, is named after him. Agazzi was crazy about tennis and he called his son Andrea. Andrea Agazzi would later become a decent tennis player himself, not to be confused with a tennis legend bearing almost the same name (Andre Agassi).

Le "Trofeo Memorial Giancarlo Agazzi", tournoi annuel de... tennis, est disputé tous les ans en sa mémoire. Carlo Agazzi, passionné de balle jaune, avait prénommé son fils Andrea. Andrea Agazzi, cela rappelle furieusement le futur champion de tennis Andre Agassi !
