Great two-way center, leader and face-off specialist. Excelled in penalty-killing situations.
Always led by example. A true warrior, he played through pain and was a true workhorse.
Had occasional goal-scoring droughts. Wasn't as prolific a scorer at the end of his career.
One of the best conditioned hockey players of his era, and also when he became a coach.
Retired in 2010 at 40. Became the best coach in the NHL 2021.
Fourth player in NHL history to win the Stanley Cup as captain (2006) and coach (2026), both times with the Carolina Hurricanes.

Un vrai guerrier qui menait par l'exemple, il jouait malgré la douleur et abattait un travail de titan.
Il traversait des phases sans mettre un but et n'était plus un marqueur si prolifique en fin de carrière.
Très musculeux. L'un des hockeyeurs avec la meilleure condition physique de sa génération, y compris après sa carrière.
Retraité en 2010 à 40 ans, devenu le meilleur entraîneur de LNH en 2021.
Quatrième joueur de l'histoire à gagner la Coupe Stanley comme capitaine (2006) et comme entraîneur (2026), les deux fois avec les Hurricanes de la Caroline.
1184 points (452+732) en 1484 parties de saison régulière de LNH.
