Growing up his favorite team was the New York Rangers.
Was the first player to win the Calder Trophy as the top rookie in the NHL and the Hobey Baker Award as the top US college player.
A born leader who could play all three forward positions. Won the Stanley Cup in 2001 with the Colorado Avalanche.
Good shot and great defensive instincts, fine two-way player. Streaky scorer at times. Not a great passer.
Was the type of guy who was willing to do whatever the coach asked of him, whether it was killing a power play or he'd score a big goal. Was a heart and soul type of player.
Announced his retirement on August 19, 2011, one day before his 35th birthday.
