Younger brother of Ted Drury who was his greatest influence in terms of hockey. Uncle of Jack Drury
First player to win the Hobey Baker Award as the top US college player and the Calder Trophy as the top rookie in the NHL.
A born leader who could play all three forward positions. Won the Stanley Cup in 2001 with the Colorado Avalanche.
Good shot and great defensive instincts, fine two-way player. Streaky scorer at times. Not a great passer.
Was the type of guy who was willing to do whatever the coach asked of him, whether it was killing a power play or he'd score a big goal. Was a heart and soul type of player.
Finished his career with the New York Rangers - his favorite team growing up - and announced his retirement on August 19, 2011, one day before his 35th birthday.
