Born in the small town of Maltby in South Yorkshire, just outside Rotherham, close to Sheffield. His older brother Jonathan represented Great Britain as a junior.
First born-and-trained-Englishman drafted in the NHL (by Arizona Coyotes in 2018).
Extremely good stickhandler with the ability to stickhandle his way through any defense.
Strong skater with natural quickness and a good shot. Good on-ice vision.

Né à Maltby dans le South Yorkshire (centre-est de l'Angleterre), près de Rotherham et de Sheffield, où il a été formé. Son grand-frère Jonathan fut international junior.
Premier joueur formé en Angleterre drafté en NHL (par les Coyotes).
Excellente technique de crosse, capable de feinter même la défense la plus regroupée.
Très bon patineur avec beaucoup de rapidité naturelle. Attaquant clairvoyant et intelligent avec un bon tir.
