Related to NHL’ers Travis Konecny and Bo Horvat. His father Jack Leetch was one of the last cuts for U.S. Olympic Team in 1964.
Born in Texas (Corpus Christi) but moved to Connecticut (Cheshire) when he was three months.
Leetch was also a very good baseball player in his youth.
He eventually became one of the premier all-around defensemen in the NHL for many years.
Offensively gifted and a good point man.
Was an aggressive skater who could go stride for stride with anyone.
Never avoided going into the corners. Had a hard and heavy shot from the point.
Excellent at making long passes out of his own zone. Olympic All-Star defenseman in 2002.
Retired in 2006. Later became manager of player safety in the NHL's Department of Player Safety.
He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and US Hockey Hall of Fame.

Né au Texas (Corpus Christi), il déménagea dans le Connecticut (Cheshire) quand il avait trois mois.
Leetch était un très bon joueur de baseball dans sa jeunesse.

Patineur agressif qui pouvait rester au contact de n'importe qui.
Il n'évitait jamais d'aller dans les coins. Lancer fort et précis de la ligne bleue.
Excellent pour délivrer de longues passes depuis sa zone. Choisi dans l'équipe-type des Jeux olympiques 2002.
Retraité en 2006. Devenu directeur du département de la sécurité des joueurs dans la NHL.
Intronisé au Hockey Hall of Fame et au US Hockey Hall of Fame.
