His father Milan [1961-2013] also played hockey, reaching the second highest division back home.
He also played in lower German leagues.
David Pastrňák moved to Sweden at the age of 16 to improve his game.
He played for the Södertälje SK junior and senior teams.
Came to North America, signed a contract with Boston Bruins and made his NHL debut at the age of 18, and never looked back.
Exciting player to watch and extremely elusive and quick with many moves in his arsenal.
Gifted shooter and a natural scorer. Capable of creating offense for himself with ease.
Slight frame as a youngster, attracting a lot of attention from opponents.
A defensive liability as a youngster, but improved his two way play a great deal over the years.
Scored the game winning goal in the final of the 2024 World Championships, leading Czechia to its first World Championship gold in 14 years.
In 2025 he was the top scorer in the World Championships and was voted to the tournament All-Star team.
He was also voted as the best forward.

Faible en défense à ses débuts, il a cependant considérablement amélioré son jeu dans les deux sens au fil des années.
Il a marqué le but de la victoire en finale des Championnats du monde 2024, offrant ainsi à la République tchèque sa première médaille d'or mondiale en 14 ans.
En 2025, il a terminé meilleur buteur des Championnats du monde et a été sélectionné dans l'équipe type du tournoi.
Il a également été désigné meilleur attaquant.
