Son of a Czech father (Jozef) who also used to be a hockey player.
Philipp Lukas began playing ice hockey at the age of eight in the WAT Stadlau organization.
He played together with older brother Robert Lukas on several teams.
Philipp Lukas later played with Wiener EV but played the majority of his career with EHC Linz.
Smallish center who played bigger than his size and liked when the games were chippy.
He had solid leadership qualities and worked hard during the games.
Represented Austria 114 times, scoring 42 points (20+22).
Announced his retirement on April 4, 2018.
Went on to coach (Assistant on the national team).

Philipp Lukas commença le hockey à huit ans dans l'équipe du WAT Stadlau.
Il joua avec son frère aîné Robert Lukas dans plusieurs équipes.
Philipp Lukas joua pour le Wiener EV mais passa la majeure partie de sa carrière à l'EHC Linz.
Petit centre mais qui jouait comme s'il était plus grand et qui aimait les rencontres engagées.
De solides qualités de meneur d'hommes. Travaillait dur dans ses rencontres.
114 sélections en équipe d'Autriche, 42 points (20+22).
Il prit sa retraite le 4 avril 2018 et devint coach (assistant en sélection).
