Small (172 cm) but shifty player who came to West Germany after having been named the WHL rookie of the year in 1984/85.
He stayed in West Germany/Germany for 17 years and was a scoring machine there for many years.
Voted as the best DEL player in 1997/98.
MacKay got his German passport after 10 years in the country.
Scored 2198 (1007+1191) career points in 1049 games. Retired in 2002.
Went on to work as a player agent in Calgary.

Joueur petit (172 cm) mais doué qui arriva en Allemagne de l'Ouest après avoir été désigné rookie de l'année WHL en 1984/85.
Il s'implanta en Allemagne pendant 17 ans et y affola les compteurs de nombreuses années.
Désigné meilleur joueur de la DEL en 1997/98.
MacKay obtint un passeport allemand après 10 ans passés dans le pays.
