Solidly built blueliner (185 cm, 102 kg) who played a physical brand of hockey. Slow in one-on-one situations.
His slapshot was very strong but not very accurate or quick. Good reading of the game. Always funny in his teams.
He was born in Germany and emigrated to Brantford in Canada with his family when he was six months old. His game was shaped in North America as a junior where he played three seasons in the OHL and parts of one season in the QMJHL.
He always kept his German citizenship and was selected to play with German national junior team in 1985/86.
He came back to Germany and first played for Freiburg before going to the place he was born, Schwenningen.
183 points (43+140) in 440 German elite league (Bundesliga/DEL) games. Represented Germany 66 times, scoring 12 points (4+8).
Retired in 2005 after another comeback to Schwenningen in the second division. Played in a Swiss amateur league in 2006/07.

Défenseur de gros gabarit (185 cm, 102 kg) qui pratiquait un hockey très physique. Lent défensivement en un contre un. Slap très puissant, mais pas toujours précis ou rapide dans son déclenchement. Bonne lecture du jeu. Boute-en-train du vestiaire.
Né en Allemagne, il a émigré à Brantford au Canada avec sa famille quand il avait six mois. Formé en Amérique du Nord, il a joué trois saisons juniors en OHL et une demi-saison en LHJMQ.
Il a toujours gardé sa nationalité allemande et a été sélectionné pour l'équipe d'Allemagne junior en 1985/86.
Revenu dans son Bade-Wurtemberg natal en 1987, il a joué pour Fribourg-en-Brisgau avant de revenir dans sa ville d'origine Schwenningen.
183 points (43+140) en 440 parties de Bundesliga/DEL allemande.
12 points (4 buts et 8 assists) en 66 sélections avec l'Allemagne.
Retraité en 2005 après un dernier retour de deux ans à Schwenningen tombé en deuxième division.
Il a joué dans le championnat amateur suisse de deuxième ligue à Schaffhouse en 2006/07.
