Began playing in BHS hockey school, founded by former Latvian legend Helmuts Balderis.
Played in North America since he was 14. Primarily a center but also used on the wings.
Skilled, two-way player with great hockey IQ. Good at faceoffs.
Player with physical flair and not afraid to get dirty in the corners or down low.
Only average skating at best, lacking explosiveness.
Second Latvian after Sandis Ozoliņš to win the Stanley Cup - with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2023 - but it was almost unnoticed in his country one month after he missed the historic World Championship bronze medal.

Il a commencé à jouer à l'école de hockey BHS, fondée par la légende lettone Helmuts Balderis.
Il a joué en Amérique du nord depuis ses 14 ans. D'abord un centre, mais il peut aussi être utilisé à l'aile.
Attaquant défensif talentueux qui comprend bien le jeu. Bon aux mises au jeu.
Joueur qui apprécie le jeu physique et n'a pas peur de se salir les mains dans les coins ou dans l'enclave.
Patinage moyen tout au plus, manquant d'explosivité.
Deuxième Letton après Sandis Ozoliņš à remporter la Coupe Stanley - avec les Golden Knights de Vegas en 2023 - mais c'est passé presque inaperçu dans son pays un mois après la médaille de bronze historique aux championnats du monde, qu'il a donc manquée.
