American-born goaltender with an peculiar style. He waves his hands a lot.
Started skating at 2 to follow his brother. Both also played soccer and baseball.
After a good season in the OHL he was invited by the Columbus Blue Jackets to their rookie camp but got his collarbone broken in two places when Dallas' James Neal cross-checked him after a save.
Destined to be a career ECHLer when he signed at 23 for Serbian club Partizan Belgrade and won SloHokej Liga.
His second European experience would change his life when he got to Poland in 2013. He spent the rest of his career there but one year in Kazakhstan. In Opole he met a local Polish woman who would become his wife and got Polish citizenship.
In 2018 when he came out from a team-building event at half to midnight in Tychy two drunk men assaulted the pair and he ended up with a black eye when defending his wife. The incident forged his legendary status in Polish hockey like his six titles and his standout play for national team.
They had a daughter but suffered the loss of their son just after his premature birth in August 2021.
He loves to restore old furniture like century-old chairs and tables.

Gardien né en Pennsylvanie au style particulier quand il agite beaucoup les mains.
Monté sur les patins à 2 ans pour suivre son frère de 5 ans. Tous deux ont aussi pratiqué le football et le baseball.
Après une bonne saison en OHL il a été invité au camp des rookies des Columbus Blue Jackets, où un cross-check de James Neal (Dallas) après un arrêt lui a cassé la clavicule en deux endroits.
Il semblait destiné à faire carrière en ECHL quand il a fait un choix inattendu en signant à 23 ans au Partizan Belgrade, avec qui il a remporté la SloHokej Liga.
Sa deuxième expérience européenne allait changer sa vie puisqu'il passerait le reste de sa vie en Pologne à partir de 2013 (sauf une saison au Kazakhstan). C'est à Opole qu'il a rencontré sa future femme, obtenant la nationalité polonaise par mariage.
En sortant peu avant minuit d'une soirée d'équipe à Tychy en 2018 il a fini avec un œil au beurre noir en défendant sa femme face à l'agression de deux individus ivres, un incident qui a contribué à forger son statut de légende du hockey en Pologne, en plus de ses six titres de champion et de ses exploits avec la sélection nationale.
Le couple a vécu un drame plus grave puisqu'ils ont perdu leur fils prématuré en août 2021 après avoir eu une fille.
Passionné d'histoire, il aime travailler le bois et restaurer de vieux meubles.
