Younger brother of Roberts Bukarts. Smallish winger with soft hands.
Fine east-west skater but not speedy. Low centre of gravity and strong lower body.
Sturdy and always tried to play bigger than his size (178 cm), showing a lot of heart.
Hard snapshot and good one-timer. A bit clumtsy and ineffective in front of the net.
Was the youngest player ever in the KHL to sign a professional contract at the age of 16.
Played junior hockey in Canada (WHL) and professional hockey in AHL and ECHL (where he was known as Richards Bukarts).

Jeune frère de Roberts Bukarts. Petit ailier spectaculaire aux mains agiles.
Il se déplace bien latéralement sur la glace mais n'est pas rapide. Centre de gravité bas et jambes puissantes.
Robuste, il essaie toujours de jouer avec beaucoup de cœur, dépassant son gabarit moyen (1m78).
Lancer balayé puissant et bonne reprise de volée. Assez maladroit dès qu'il s'approche du but.
Il a été le plus jeune joueur à signer un contrat pro en KHL à 16 ans.
Il a joué en junior au Canada (WHL) puis en AHL et ECHL (où il était renommé Richards Bukarts).
Il présente un strabisme assez net.
